We’re proud to have signed up to the Good Business Charter

GBC 3rd

Not Another Marketing Agency has always held Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at its heart, and we like to work with businesses that have similar morals and values to us. CSR isn’t just about bunging some cash to a local charity at Christmas (although that does help); it’s about running your business in a way that makes your community a better place. This is where the Good Business Charter comes in.

What is the Good Business Charter, and what does it mean to be accredited?

The Good Business Charter is the corporate equivalent of the saying “do unto others as you would have done to you”. Companies and organisations that are accredited have to be able to prove that they take the responsibility of looking after their staff and their community seriously. In order to become accredited in recognition of responsible business behaviour, organisations have to prove that they meet ten specific components:

  • Paying employees the real living wage
  • Fair hours and contracts (so, no zero-hours contracts)
  • Clear and transparent policies on employee well-being
  • That employees have a voice at the boardroom table
  • That the company monitors diversity in their workforce and is committed to closing gender, disability, and ethnicity pay gaps
  • Environmental responsibility and a commitment to reducing environmental impact
  • Paying fair tax and not engaging in tax avoidance
  • Commitment to customers
  • Ethical sourcing
  • Prompt payment to suppliers.

Basically, it’s about operating as a fair and community-minded entity, understanding the part you play in society, and the difference you can make. So, it made sense for Not Another Marketing Agency to become accredited because we do all those things.

So, what does this mean for our clients?

Well, our clients will still receive the same excellent service that they always have, but will also be able to sit, happy in the knowledge that they are outsourcing to a company that pays its staff well and uses freelancers that aren’t working for pennies, that doesn’t store its money in Panama, and that encourages a diverse workforce. That’s pretty impressive when you think about it.

Our clients may find that we begin suggesting that they get accredited too, just to show that they are amongst the hundreds of organisations in the UK, including the CBI, Oxfam, and Legal and General, that are actively making a difference. It’s an excellent way of showing that your business takes CSR seriously whilst putting plans and policies in place to improve the lives of those around us.

If you’re a socially responsible business that is looking for a better marketing approach, we’d love to work with you. Drop us a message to have a chat.
